Duarte combines a strong academic foundation and hands-on experience in investment banking and financial advisory, combining technical rigor with an entrepreneurial mindset.
Duarte holds an MSc in Finance from Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics, where he also earned his undergraduate degree with distinction.
Throughout his studies, Duarte was awarded multiple merit scholarships and stood out for his work in corporate finance and venture capital.
Professionally, Duarte began his career at BNP Paribas in regulatory reporting before joining Deloitte, where he was involved in buy-side advisory and AML risk analysis.
Most recently, he served as an Associate at Haitong Bank, contributing to several M&A transactions — notably the sell-side mandate of “A Padaria Portuguesa” — and gaining exposure to all stages of the deal cycle, from investor targeting to execution.
Duarte’s analytical approach, collaborative spirit, and strategic thinking make him a valuable addition to the Beresford Capital team.
